Criticism

Painting is a precious and real joy. How can we not envy those who yield to this creative euphoria that consists of artfully putting on a support the fruit of one's reflections, desires, obsessions and fantasies! Frédéric MELET decided to take the step and to transfer onto canvas as he wishes the fascinating perennial adventure that painting represents, and to passionately succumb to recreating the reality that surrounds and charms him. With this artist, there is no prevaricating: his instinct dictates the choice of design and his will constructs and recreates the atmosphere. Attentive to balance, Frédéric MELET traces his personal path as much through floral compositions as at the heart of simple rural landscapes and airy seascapes that he structures as might a drawer. He resorts to colour afterwards, to express his moods and the unique nature of each site. He has a nervous, unsubdued hand, pointing to his eagerness to capture the atmosphere with a quivering boldness that the artist has every right to master, in order to further seduce the art-lover through the biting results of his natural talent.
