In general, painting represents a means of conveying a mood, or a desire to share beauty and emotions. Marine Chatel prefers to invite us to discover her passion for beings and their individuality through a surprising pictorial audacity. Little worried by conventions, she places matter and colour with energy, deciphering faces and bodies unabashed. Yet the artist also reveals an interesting sense of the model and relief with a brushstroke and lighting effects that point to an open approach.
Marine Chatel enthusiastically dramatises and seduces with a welcome carnal sense and injects energy into the colourful or shadowy backgrounds that balance her works. Moreover, her abstract experiments mark a desire to tame geometric structures in favour of pure colours. And this can also be seen in the picturesque and charming qualities of her pretty painted furniture, bold jewelry and heartfelt sculptures, which in turn reflect the author’s great faith and creativity.
