How can we forget Franck INNOCENT when we experienced his friendly get-togethers, and his cordial conversations punctuated with Homeric laughter...? How can we forget him when we have followed him over the course of his exhibitions and on-site painting sessions, during which he appeared transformed, distancing himself from everything except the landscape that he wished to transfer onto canvas, looking at it with his sharp eyes and almost disturbing intent? His boldness was no less great, and his ceaseless combat as an artist meant he compromised little. But what loyalty I was able to appreciate on his part, and how his personality and his talent have marked the second half of the previous century! He represents a memory and an art that Dominique BRETON-MARISCAL continues to keep alive through retrospective exhibitions that are extremely popular with enthusiasts. Good at drawing, Franck INNOCENT, who was born in Sahurs in Seine Maritime, masterfully made a name for himself as a passionate painter. Daring to compose larger formats, create portraits and captivating nudes, he forever delighting in Normandy landscapes, floral compositions, still-lifes and thousands of picturesque scenes that are characterized with a sound and lively brush-stroke. By applying increasingly luminous colours, he was able to reproduce immediate and dazzling effects that are also visible in beautiful and carnal lithographies. How much we miss you, Franck, despite the magical and continual presence of your works!
