Il faut le voir et le croire : toutes ces grandes toiles vouées à l'espace, aux élans, à l'infini, Bernard VINCENT les crée dans un petit atelier de 10m², bien exposé plein nord dans ce verdoyant quartier du boulevard d'Orléans à Rouen-Sud. Un espace équilibré à l'image des œuvres et dominé, ça va de soi, par un imposant chevalet, détenteur et veilleur mystérieux du talent d'un artiste hors du commun. Tout comme ses échappées réalistes, la peinture abstraite et lyrique de Bernard VINCENT prend sa source dans un figuratif expressif et libre, fruit d'années de recherches tant en matière qu'en coloris chaleureux et en rythmes incisifs, issus de son inspiration dans la nature qu'il reconstruit en lignes directionnelles, plutôt verticales, mais que l'âge venant, il dote d'un flux plein de vie et de lumière. You need to see it and believe it. All these large canvases devoted to space, impetus and infinity were created by Bernard Vincent in a small 10m2 studio that faces due north in the verdant Boulevard d’Orléans in the south of Rouen. It is a balanced space, much like his works and is dominated, it goes without saying, by an impressive easel, which stands as a mysterious keeper and guardian of this extraordinary artist’s talent. Just like his realist ventures, Bernard Vincent’s abstract and lyrical painting finds its source in an expressive and free figurative style, one that is the fruit of years of research into not only matter, but also warm colour blends and snappy rhythms. His inspiration is drawn from nature, which he reproduces in directional and often vertical lines, but to which, with the coming of age, he confers a fluidity that is full of life and light. Hence these artworks that are free, charged with emotion, and always new, intuitive and captivating. His approach is enthusiastic and poetic but constantly steeped in elegance and reflection. Passion and energy are displayed in every creation, from the largest formats to his small sketches on paper, which reflect surprising diversity and an enviable confidence.
