Criticism

Reflecting his culture and his engaging and cordial personality, Jean-Pierre FRUIT thoroughly immersed himself in the resources of matter and colour in order to create superb compositions. And these stem from a constant search of natural themes that are of a perfectly linear and fine realism. Consequently, the mark of his mind reveals itself, and it is one of generous but also bold grace. The artist masters a moving echo that is built upon a formal elevation as well as fine networks, which in turn are accentuated by the presence of precious and novel colours, such as the impalpable light that traverses and ennobles stained-glass windows. But Jean-Pierre FRUIT is no less innovative with his motifs traced in oil pastel and paint on the same support. These pieces are criss-crossed with an interlacing of meticulous and elegant nuances. And that’s not forgetting his surprising subjects where the subtle strokes of lead fuse with the skillfully ruffled and immaculate white paper or harrowing bas-reliefs.
