Criticism

Marianne Quinzin has above all a surprising visual vitality and a unique way of using boldness and poetry to her advantage. I have rarely seen such a wide range of techniques united in one piece without the artist’s personality becoming diluted. Here, she uses her choice of materials without the work as a whole losing one ounce of quality or generosity. Matter and colours are very finely worked in a formal definition where reality is skillfully hidden under airy yet resolute brushstrokes. These in turn delineate an evocative way of recreating life and charm in a host of transparent and emotive touches.
