Criticism

A solitary painter, passionate about creating and deeply imaginative, BRISTENA – Estelle Morvan charmingly represents the delightful alliance of eastern and southern Europe even though she lives permanently in the Pays d'Armor. Her painting is at once tender and solid, charming and vigourous. Through her brushstroke the artist quashes prettiness to better express the emotion and lyrical harmony of a matter that is abrupt and original. BRISTENA arranges her compositions in daring shapes that are adorned with dynamic colours, now a far cry from her more traditional watercolours that were attentive to the recreation of atmospheres and the realism of motifs. BRISTENA proposes an artform that is delightful to discover and get to know. Yet it is discrete, and therefore thoroughly reflects this shadowy and determined artistic temperament that pursues its quest for personality through the crafting of masterful perspectives and the impact of the emotion they unleash.
