Criticism

It is always a pleasant surprise to discover an experienced figurative artist such as Jacqueline Pasero, to see that with the passing years, besides the fashions, trends, and schools of research, there are painters who are devoted to reality, and whose talents dig deeper and deeper into everything that surrounds them. Their masterful practice of painting with either oil or watercolours leads to innovative paths that prove full of vitality and seduction. Seduction: there, I’ve said it! For, in addition to conveying the subtleties of her personality, this artist participates in a captivating artistic mission that ordinarily consists of entering into symbiosis with the observer, and allowing the works, whatever the approach taken, to unleash a passionate exchange between creator and art-lover. I must add that under Jacqueline Pasero’s able brush and fine brushwork, a universe of charm, delicacy, and accuracy unfolds in her exhibited paintings, from her eye-catching floral compositions to her precise studies of poses inherent to children, via the indispensable classicism of still-life and the poetry of landscapes and seascapes. Moreover, even when treating dynamic effects of nature, it is always the well thought-out composition of quality that affirms the painting, upon which the plenitude of atmospheres never threatens to encroach, even in depictions of daring elaborations that are underpinned by a palette of well-adjusted and delicately lit colours.
