Criticism

Whether it be woodland or flowers, nature only has to show strict observance of form, and, according to the seasons, only appear elegant, shimmering, and exuberant. It is up to the artist to define his or her vision and, with a greater or lesser degree of success, the various exhibitions consequently display sober or evocative paintings and dazzling compositions. And these stem from the painter’s personal filter and palette that are in turn the result of the creator’s mood and choice. Anna FERRERO had the discernment to stylishly slip into these obstacle-filled creative paths. The former visual arts teacher, who tried her hand at fashion and the difficult task of creating prints on material and paper, was able to define herself with a personal style and renew it with surprising brilliance. The flow of inspiring colours in her work never lacks boldness or, for that matter, the suggestive contrasts that the vegetable world abundantly offers its observers. Anna FERRERO in no way lets herself be dominated by these bold tints, instead analysing and positioning them with her mind. And it is precisely by disregarding classical form that she creates waves of fire and light that harbour the imaginary world and an instinctive reality. These she masters as perfectly as certain scenes of undergrowth and areas of water which, caressed by her talent, are full of freshness. Her delicious floral compositions are similarly kissed, and home to numerous surprises.
