Criticism
As retirement approached, Jean-Paul Fusay, a restorer of ancient ceramics in his native Bay of the Somme, picked up his brushes and colours again and decided to thereafter dedicate his talent to painting on canvas. His style is figurative, although he sometimes adheres to a more abstract inspiration. It should be pointed out that the atmosphere of the place he lives is entirely appropriate for the unleashing of creative passion, inspiring particular sensations of appeal within the artist through its locations and the birds that live there. Even the pebbles, caressed by the waters of the Bay, constitute a precious source of abstract works.
The region has naturally rendered Jean-Paul Fusay an artist full of finesse, and very attentive to motifs, which he conveys with a subtle and attractive serenity. Under his carefully controlled brush, the artist portrays light in an environment of pure beauty, decrypting it at different times and places, free from the slightest unwelcome intrusion. It is simple and yet reflects the observant and meticulous eye of someone who has given himself the task of conveying what inspires him and stands out. His abstract vision is no less noteworthy, as it allows him to explore a hidden side of dynamism and light bursts, which his mind elevates with an elegant and fluid style.
