Criticism

Young academic Sensitive Derais has been passionate about drawing since her childhood. One happy day, she realised the irreplaceable value of the drawn line, and consequently trained at the Ecole Brassart in Caen where she learnt the traditional and essential basics of sketching and painting. Efficient lessons, technology, and communication led the future artist to follow a series of classes in illustration and comic art, leading her to the profession of illustrator/drawer and to the vocation of painter, to which she devotes herself at home. Thanks to a very thorough education, which is overlooked all too often by future painters, Sensitive Derais proves that nothing is foreign to her in terms of creativity. Her personality established, she is now able to respond brilliantly to everything that inspires her young talent, and she proves this as much in drawing as in painting, watercolours and the graphics palette. Though multiple motifs arise from her hand, her predilection is for portraits. At times hyper realistic, and often poetic, they directly prove the class with which the artist combines techniques and sensitivity, and she even dares to incorporate them with graceful floral designs. She also creates remarkably meticulous effigies, which are full of humour and originality. Therefore, through her expert watercolours and bold paintings, Sensitive Derais confirms her assurance, which in turn stems from her willingness to learn and the receptiveness of her natural observation and perfect analysis.
