Criticism

After having finished her studies, true Breton Joëlle Troussier turned to painting as a professional artist, offering the world of art lovers an artistic personality essentially devoted to remarkably elegant and uncluttered female portraits in the Modigliani style. Joëlle Troussier has been able to accentuate the appeal and originality of these tender faces with their uniquely expressive features by developing and highlighting them with her expert use of the knife and very elaborate décor and environment. Carefully chosen thematic colours further accentuate the impact made by these characters and the anecdote or situation that ensues. Everything is full of grace, emotion, smiles, and also an exemplary diversity which at times wittily recalls the most successful sensual pieces of Art Deco and its matchless atmosphere. Yet when she adheres to floral compositions, Joëlle Troussier is no less successful. She synthesises shapes to enhance colours and reflections with her winning talent, and this certainly contributes to justifying the numerous French and international prizes and awards that have marked her career.
