Criticism

For several years now, nothing has matched the artistic personality of painter Fabienne Mary. Her works brighten up many galleries and salons, particularly in Grand-Quevilly and Elbeuf where her contributions are appreciated and rewarded by a very experienced audience. Fabienne Mary exhibits the fruit of her wide-ranging research in a painting style that demonstrates the now classic notion of informalism. Yet after examination and reflection, a whole suggestive universe opens up beyond the composition, almost obliging the observer to rediscover an eloquent world within the artwork. Thrilling findings and the expression of a mysterious décor capture your attention and invite you to weave an illustrative fairyland of colours. These blends unleash an irresistible power, one that I’ve rarely felt so strongly, fuelling the veritable genesis of an admirable and enchanting world. Fabienne Mary draws from nature, perceiving and exploring its amazing impressions with great talent and revealing an encouraging and valuable complicity between the artist and observer. These paintings represent a choice, a will and a mastery of movement that are completely idealised and generous. Take her use of light for example, which sets her pieces on fire and points to an admirable conception full of vitality and daring energy.
