Following the example of his masterly
poems rendered in a text full of emotion and sensations,
and with the exact choice of intense words, the paintings
of Camille Vidal are thus easily recognised. They are
always evocative and strewn with outbursts from the
heart and spirit.
I do not think that this artist would have appreciated
being called almost informal, as his creations always
end up describing with brio, sparkling magic of pure
beauty and are punctuated by moving fullness, from which
issue harmony and equilibrium. From these active, generous
fruits of reflection, Camille Vidal knew how to deeply
motivate body language by giving it a rhythm which alternates
between grandiose seriousness and solid suggestion.
Actually, this artist’s works were generated deeply-drawn
by virtue of reflected colours and the vision of a painter
who at times lightly touches the tangible, in order
to better disturb the mysterious, limitless sources
of his inspiration.
